"Architecture as a service is no longer enough – at QDG the design experience is the foundation for our growth. It’s this experience that both the client and QDG engage in that ultimately makes memorable and lasting impressions and fosters transformation within individuals and places."

Partner

Ricardo  Rodriguez’s fascination with the growth of cities has inspired him to blend  social and cultural influences with art and architecture in the redevelopment  of urban neighborhoods.

His  innate sensitivity to design brings a rigorous energy to the design process  that challenges the firm’s culture and expands their sensibilities. Ricardo  artfully blends client and user ideas with the site context, program, and site  specifics to establish a well-defined conceptual framework.

Ricardo  believes that the process of discovering how a community originally came  together can inspire new directions and redevelopment. His respect for culture  and history enables him to achieve permanence in his own design. With over 27  years of experience, his most basic influence stems from his upbringing  in affordable housing. His philosophy on revitalizing communities is simple – in order to change the way  people live, you must first change the environment. His strongest efforts have  been in the areas of urban design – specifically how a pedestrian engages with  buildings and the ideals of “place making.”

A  graduate of California State Polytechnic University, Pomona with a Bachelor of  Architecture, Ricardo’s passion for architecture is always tempered with a  keen awareness of real-world obstacles. He instinctively knows that projects  need to be built on time and within reasonable budgets. In 1996, Ricardo co-founded Quatro Design Group and brought to the firm a strong sense of design in the Housing, Commercial and Institutional Markets.
